Are you interested in helping to keep Lowry litter-free? 

Lowry United neighborhoods (LUN) is seeking passionate residents to join us in creating and launching an exciting new initiative – the Lowry Volunteer Clean-Up Program. This program will mobilize volunteers to target areas with the highest litter levels, including East Lowry, the Sports Park, and other high-traffic streets and parks.

Our goal? To keep these areas clean while fostering community involvement and promoting healthy exercise.

We Need Your Help

If you’re interested in helping to shape this program and in making a real difference, LUN needs you. Over the next few months, we’ll be developing ways for neighbors to get involved in keeping Lowry litter-free while engaging in some healthy activity with fellow community members.

The Litter Challenge in Lowry

While many parts of Lowry are well-maintained, there are still areas where trash accumulates daily -especially in high-traffic zones like through-fares, retail areas, parks and sports fields. People are tossing trash out of their cars or failing to use nearby containers; the result is litter in areas no one wants to see. Thanks to the efforts of some dedicated Lowry residents who already go out regularly to pick up trash, we’ve made great strides in keeping our neighborhood beautiful; we want to expand these efforts.

Introducing LUN’s Lowry Volunteer Clean-Up Program

LUN is excited to announce the development of the Lowry Volunteer Clean-Up Program (possibly called Adopt a Spot or Walking with a Purpose) – an initiative where neighbors can team up to combine healthy walking exercise with a focus on neighborhood cleanliness. This initiative is designed to beautify Lowry while fostering a sense of community pride. Together, we can make a positive impact on our environment and create a cleaner, more vibrant neighborhood.

How It Works

• Teams will be provided with all the essentials: high-visibility safety vests, grabbers, bags and other clean-up supplies.
• You can choose a creative name for your team, making the experience fun and personalized. Plus, there may be some friendly competition between teams to see who can make the biggest difference.
• Maximum flexibility: We’ll focus on allowing teams to choose times, frequency, and locations that work best for them. Whether you want to make it a weekly routine or a one-time effort, every bit helps.
