Volunteers Needed: Be Part of the First Annual July 1 Holiday Celebration

We ae excited to announce The Lowry Foundation, in partnership with Lowry United Neighborhoods, and sponsored by the Lowry Community Master Association, are throwing Lowry’s first Fourth of July Parade and Festival on Saturday, July 1, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Great Lawn Park, Lowry Boulevard and Yosemite Street. Come picnic in the grass and listen to live music; brunch items and drinks will be available for purchase.

This fun-filled, family-oriented event is sure to bring smiles to faces of all ages. As part of the celebration, there will be a one-mile community procession (aka parade without spectators) around Great Lawn Park with participants wearing costumes, riding decorated bikes, pulling decorated wagons, pushing decorated strollers, and/or walking costumed dogs. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes and decorations. We are working on securing a Color Guard and a high school marching band to lead the community procession.

We are also working hard to get the local fire truck to shoot water in the park, making it possible for kids to run under the water spray. Stay tuned for additional attractions.

To make this celebration a reality, we require a team of volunteers to help us set up, run the parade, work the festival, tear down as well as work on both the bike and pet parades. Your contributions for a couple of hours can help make this event a huge success. Join our team of volunteers and be part of this spectacular celebration.
