Spring Gardening with Lowry Elementary Students

Lowry Elementary Gardening Program provides every single student an opportunity to work in the garden at multiple times during the year. Students are involved in every part of the vegetable garden from starting seeds, planting the garden, weeding and watering, harvesting and even selling the produce.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to assist students with seed starting, transplanting and garden planting throughout Spring 2022. Volunteers will work alongside our garden coordinator to lead students in the garden activities. No prior gardening experience is needed, just a desire to work directly with students and get your hands in the dirt!  A variety of time slots are available throughout March, April and May. To sign up to help, visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0548A9A62FA2F94-spring Our garden coordinator will be in touch a few days prior to your shift with details on specifically what you will be doing.

All volunteers are required to have an active DPS background check (typically takes 2-4 weeks to process) and must provide proof of COVID vaccination (please email a copy to Amanda Encinias, School Secretary at alewis5@dpsk12.net or show your card in the school office).  Masks are highly recommended per current guidelines, which are subject to change.
