Lowry United Neighborhoods Launches Litter Free Lowry: A Community Stewardship Initiative

Lowry United Neighborhoods (LUN) is pleased to announce the launch of Litter Free Lowry, a comprehensive community stewardship program dedicated to preserving and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our neighborhood. This initiative aims to foster a cleaner, more sustainable environment through the collaborative efforts of Lowry residents.

Official Launch Event: Earth Day Celebration
We invite all residents to join us for the official launch of the Little Free Lowry on Tuesday, April 22 (Earth Day), from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Montclair Recreation Center. This event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the program, connect with fellow volunteers, and receive essential resources.

Litter Free Lowry & The Lowry Clean Team : “Small Effort, Big Impact” – A Collaborative Approach
Guided by the principle of “Small Effort, Big Impact,” Litter Free Lowry is organizing the Lowry Clean Team to empower residents to contribute to the cleanliness of our community through simple, consistent actions. This initiative underscores the collective power of individual contributions in achieving a significant and lasting positive impact.

Key Program Components
Designated Area Adoption: Volunteers are encouraged to adopt specific areas within Lowry for regular cleanup and maintenance. We have identified 30 high- priority zones, and are looking for volunteers to adopt those areas and also to maintain the areas where they live.
Flexible Volunteer Scheduling: Participants have the flexibility to choose their preferred cleanup schedule, frequency, and method, accommodating diverse lifestyles and availability.
Active Community Engagement: Integrating litter cleanup into daily walks and activities promotes both physical well-being and community engagement.
Provision of Essential Resources: LUN will provide volunteers with safety vests, litter pickers, collection bags, and buckets to facilitate safe and efficient cleanup efforts.
Emphasis on Responsible Recycling: The program promotes responsible recycling practices to minimize environmental impact and maximize resource recovery.
