On Thursday, February 22, the Lowry Foundation had a special recognition event to thank its donors and volunteers. Some of the most dedicated Silver Rope Volunteers made significant contributions to the Food Bank of the Rockies.
Now more than ever, the need for the Food Bank of the Rockies is significant with the heavy demand for food by families. In 2023, the Food Bank served 336,700 individuals, of which 21% were children. The meal equivalents they distributed were over 66 million meals in the Colorado and Wyoming area.
From January 2023 through February 2024, there were 31 active Silver Ropes volunteers. They donated 760 hours primarily to support the work of the Food Bank of the Rockies. From this group, there were 183 days of volunteering. I would like to recognize the top 16 volunteers who comprised over 73% of the volunteer activity and worked 141 volunteer sessions, totaling 560 hours.
