WHAT: Town Hall Presented by LUN and Lowry Climate Action Committee

WHERE: Eisenhower Chapel

WHEN:  March 10, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Speakers: Bea Stratton, Landscape Transformation Program Manager, Denver Water, and Denver Fire Chief Desmond Fulton, Denver Fire Department

Denver is getting drier. As Spring approaches, you may be asking – how can I have a beautiful yard that survives our changing climate without breaking the bank?

As you survey Lowry landscape during this draught, you may wonder – if a fire breaks out, is our Denver Fire Department prepared to put it out quickly and what steps can I take to make my home safer?

Landscape expert, Bea Stratton will debunk the myth that water-wise landscaping means a yard full of gravel and cactus. Instead, she will introduce the concept of “ColoradoScaping” – a vibrant, textural approach to landscaping that uses native plants, protects our urban tree canopy, and can slash your outdoor water use by 50% or more.

Denver Fire Chief Desmond Fulton will discuss personal and property fire protection and give you practical advice about fire preparedness and mitigation. What steps can we take to stay safe and prevent fires? Learn what you don’t know about fire safety.

These meetings are a great way to hear directly from city officials and get your questions answered. We typically have a strong turnout, so we recommend arriving a few minutes early to socialize, grab a snack and a seat. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Thanks to the Lowry Foundation, LUN appreciates the use of the beautiful, historic Eisenhower Chapel for our neighborhood events.
