History of the Lowry Air Force Base at Aurora History Museum through July 9, 2023

The Aurora History Museum is pleased to announce the new exhibit, “A History of Lowry Air Force Base,” which chronicles the story of Lowry Air Force Base, the people who served there, and the importance of the base to Aurora and the surrounding areas. The new exhibit will be displayed from March 14 through July 9 at the Aurora History Museum, 15051 E. Alameda Parkway. “A History of Lowry Air Force Base” exhibit features photographs, documents, and a comprehensive chronology of the Air Force base. Visitors will learn about the many individuals who contributed to the development of Lowry, from its founding before World War II to its closure in 1994, and discover the unique stories of the people and technology that shaped its storied history. 

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission to the Aurora History Museum is always free. For more information, call 303.739.6660 or visit AuroraMuseum.org.
