It’s an exciting time to be a Patriot! From academic achievements to theatrical productions and community support, George Washington High School is buzzing with activity and demonstrating the true spirit of our school.
Speech & Debate Team Makes a National Impact
Our Speech & Debate team recently hosted three impressive tournaments, welcoming 73 schools, approximately 650 students, and 250 judges from across Colorado, several other states, and even Vietnam! Over 800 individual rounds of competition were held, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of these students. In a remarkable act of generosity, the team chose to forgo traditional trophies and instead made donations to the LA Fire Relief in each winner’s name.
GW Food Pantry: Nourishing Our Community
The GW Food Pantry, in partnership with Food Bank of the Rockies and thanks to the generosity of our donors, continues to make a significant difference in the lives of those experiencing food insecurity. Providing weekly access to nutritious food, the pantry serves between 60 and 80 families each week. Open to all students, faculty, and staff, the pantry exemplifies our commitment to supporting one another. To volunteer, please visit the signup page on the GW website under Patriots Care: George Washington High School Food Pantry. Cash donations, which are always appreciated, can be made through our Colorado Gives page: GWHS Food Pantry | ColoradoGives.org.

After Prom: A Beach Party to Remember
The annual GW After Prom is just around the corner! This highly anticipated event, immediately following prom, provides a safe and fun environment for our students to celebrate. This year’s theme is “Beach Bash,” and we’re looking for donations to help transform the space. Items like inflatable pools, pool noodles, decorations, bean bag chairs (pillow size or larger), and collapsible beach chairs are greatly appreciated. To donate or ask questions, please email gwhsafterprom@gmail.com.
