Lowry Elementary School has launched a new volunteer program for community members to provide literacy lessons to Elementary students during the school day. Now in its second week, the program has 27 volunteers tutoring 42 kids every week!
In partnership with Lowry Elementary Literacy interventionists, community volunteers provide focused literacy skills exercises to young learners in their school environment that align with the school’s curriculum.
The goal of the program is to provide an extra boost of literacy skills that are needed to help kids who are on the cusp of grade level learning to maintain and grow their proficiency.
