DENVER – Starting this weekend, there will be more options around the city where Denver residents can take leaves after they rake them On Saturday, October 31, five more Denver LeafDrop locations will open for the next three weekends to allow residents to drop-off raked leaves to be composted for free. In addition, Jack-O’-Lanterns still sitting on the front porch after Halloween will be accepted for composting too! Compost created through Denver’s LeafDrop Program will be made available for residents to purchase at a discounted rate in the spring to help their gardens thrive. Open Saturdays and Sundays until November 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Cherry Creek Transfer Station – 7301 E. Jewell Ave. (Enter on E. Jewell Ave.; please note, this is the only location accepting loose leaves.)
• Kennedy High School – Newland St. and Brown Pl.
• Sloan’s Lake Park – 17th Ave. and Sheridan Blvd.
• Veterans Park – S. Vine St. and E. Iowa Ave.
When dropping-off raked leaves, paper bags are preferred – they can also be composted! Denver residents can visit denvergov.org/leafdrop to download a coupon for a free five-pack of paper leaf bags at participating Ace Hardware Stores.
A few more helpful tips:
• Please make sure to social distance and wear a face covering at drop-off locations.
• Leaves cannot contain branches or other materials.
• Never rake or blow leaves into the street; they could clog storm sewer inlets and Denver’s street sweepers.
• Only bring leaves to drop-off sites during specified dates and times; dropping off leaves during other times is considered illegal dumping.

EKAR Farm and Community Garden Leaf Drop
EKAR Farm and Community Garden, a nonprofit whose mission is to grow healthy vegetables and fruit for food-insecure people, needs bags of leaves to replenish the soil for next year. Please bring your bags of leaves and put them over the fence on the south side of the Farm. The street address is 181 South Oneida. There are no hours. Anytime is fine, dropping bags inside the south fence, by the Academy parking area.
