Recently, second-grade students from the International School of Denver took their learning beyond the classroom and into our community.
As part of their ‘How We Organize Ourselves’ Unit of Inquiry, the students explored Lowry with compasses in hand, visiting local spots such as the Lowry Public Library, the Petit Gateaux Bakery, Bishop Cuts and Colors, and other nearby businesses.
Their goal was to learn how different places and services work together to support our community – and they discovered that our neighborhood is a perfect example of organization, connection, and collaboration in action.
We loved seeing their excitement and curiosity as they mapped their findings and shared reflections on how each place contributes to the way we live and work together.
Thank you to the local businesses and community members who welcomed our young learners with smiles and stories!
