An estimated 350 NEIGHBORS showed up for a morning of festivities at this year’s Third Annual Independence Parade & Celebration on Saturday, June 28.
Families with kids and dogs showed up early at the LUN decoration table to decorate bikes, strollers, wagons, dogs and themselves. All marched in the Independence Parade, led by the Denver Mounted Police, Stiltman, Bagpipers and the Lowry Clean Team.
First, second and third place prizes were awarded to marchers in various categories. Highlights of the event were the Denver Mounted Police, Denver Public Library Bookmobile, yard games and contests led by the Stiltman, $4 hot dog/chips/drink special, free face painting, and vendors tables. At the last minute (having been delayed by two emergencies that morning), the Denver Fire Department arrived to spray the crowd with lots of cooling, refreshing water.
