Nine Silver Ropes Volunteers helped at the Food Bank of the Rockies on November 1 to help to sort a variety of items from fresh bread and rolls, to bulk production in 50 pound bags down to seven huge tubs of personal care items from sunscreen to cough syrup and hand soap. The crew came through sorting seven huge bins of personal care items into nearly 80, 20-pound boxes. The bread line was building boxes of bread, rolls and sweet items into boxes. The heavy lifting was done by a select few volunteers of large bags of fresh produce including Rick Deitz.
In total today the Silver Ropes Volunteers made 238 boxes of over 4,000 pounds and 8,000 pounds of produce.
Specific thanks to Rick and Carol Deitz who have not missed an Food Bank of the Rockies session, Jay and Ann Kusek, Ginger McLaughlin, Karolyn Snow, Kathy and Denny Head and new to the team, Rich Brittan.
Starting in January, Silver Ropes will be set up alternating monthly Silver ropes large group projects for both the Food Bank of the Rockies and the Denver Rescue Mission. Please join this effort to help feed and cloth those in the Denver community who need extra help in making it. If you are interested in volunteering contact Denny Head at dhead1@comcast.net.
