Leaf the Landfill Behind: Denver LeafDrop Is Here!

Let’s choose an environmentally friendly way to get rid of our fall leaves this year and send them to be composted instead of to a landfill. Last year, 14,042 Denver residents took part in the Denver LeafDrop Program, which diverted 532 tons of leaves from the landfill.

Each fall, Denver’s Office of the City Forester partners with Ace Hardware, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency to provide paper leaf bags, an offer you won’t want to leaf on the table. Download a coupon for a FREE five-pack of paper leaf bags at participating Ace Hardware stores, now through Nov. 14.   Plastic bags are a no-go for the compost party, so they’ll be emptied onsite. Compost customers can also use their green carts. Compostable leaf bags are accepted during heavy yard waste seasons, which are April through June and September through November.
