As many of you know, George Washington High School (our neighborhood school) has seen a noted increase in families and staff experiencing food insecurity. As a result, a dedicated group of parent volunteers along with the school has spent the last two years revamping out Food Pantry to support our community. For reference, last week, we served a record high 93 individual students (which represent a household) and staff. Our average household size is just over six people, so we provided meals for approximately 550 individuals – a 175% growth increase since September.
