On September 27th, Lowry United Neighborhoods (LUN) coordinated a safety event at The Residences of
Boulevard One, which is managed by Volunteers of America. It began with an outside walk-around that included the facility’s Family Services Coordinator, DPD District 3 Community Engagement representatives and LUN board members. During the safety presentation, LUN provided pizza and box drinks for attendees. In front of the LUN banner, Officer Mike Borquez discussed the walk-around findings and a host of safety issues, and responded to numerous questions for about 90 minutes. Finally, the representatives committed to returning to help establish a Neighborhood Watch Program. Vehicle steering wheel theft avoidance devices (The Club) were given to all attendees who had a valid driver’s license and auto registration.
At a September Community Action meeting at DPD District 3 Headquarters, LUN board member, David Allen, accepted a Citizen Appreciation award in behalf of LUN’s on-going efforts to enhance safe living in Lowry. The Lowry community appreciates and applauds David’s efforts for his work on our neighborhood!
