The DPS At-Large Board Position Race Tightens
Lowry United Neighborhoods is hosting the two remaining candidates, Kwame Spearman and John Youngquist, who are vying for the one open At-Large position. The DPS Board has been controversial in recent years. Many ask if their focus has been on political agendas rather than the education of children. A few of the topics that will be addressed at this event include Board responsibilities, school safety, ensuring student attainment of basic education competencies, the role of “soft money” in campaigns, and more. This forum will be moderated by our Lowry neighbor Todd Neff.
Election day is November 7. Whether or not you have a child or grandchild attending DPS, this election is important. Strong, safe public schools matter. Our kids are our future. If you are a homeowner, living in an area with good public schools increases the desirability of your community and thus your property value.
Candidate Forum, Tuesday, October 17, 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Eisenhower Chapel
