Older Adults Technology Services (OATS)—the nonprofit that operates Senior Planet’s public brand, including virtual programming, the licensing program (which allows libraries, government agencies, and nonprofits to deliver Senior Planet programming at no cost to their organization), and in-person centers like our Lowry location—is focusing on raising awareness and funds in 2026.
This effort includes partnering with community organizations and associations like LUN.
The Lowry center is currently funded solely by AARP. To ensure long-term sustainability, we need to diversify funding through government contracts and grants.

Dear [Councilmember / Representative / Senator] [Last Name],
I am a Denver resident and a participant at the Senior Planet center in Lowry – one of only four brick-and-mortar Senior Planet centers in the country. Located at 7585 E. Academy Blvd., Senior Planet is an incredible resource for older adults in our city.
Senior Planet is the flagship program of Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping older adults thrive in today’s digital world. The center offers about 30 in-person programs each week, along with volunteer-led services such as one-on-one tech help. In January alone older adults participated in the program 1,500 times.
Through classes and workshops, Senior Planet helps older adults build digital skills, stay socially connected, access services, support their health, strengthen their financial security, and express their creativity.
[Personalize here: In one or two sentences, share how Senior Planet has impacted you.]
Denver is fortunate to have a Senior Planet center. It plays a vital role in helping older adults remain independent, engaged, and connected. I respectfully ask that you continue to recognize and support programs like Senior Planet that strengthen individuals and our broader community.
Thank you for your time and for your service to Denver.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
