The LCMA has received many reports of mailbox kiosk break-ins over the last week.  If you suspect your mailbox kiosk has been broken into / mail stolen, please do the following:

1.  Is the mailbox kiosk damaged?
In this recent group of break-ins, the damage looks like doors that won’t close all the way and an outgoing mailbox door that won’t close all the way.  Our mailbox contractor can typically replace the kiosk within 24-72 hours.

If your mailbox kiosk is damaged, please email us or call:Jennifer Bublitz:  jbublitz@msihoa.com, (303) 349-2925; or Mary Carr:  mary.carr@lowrydener.com, (720) 583-5262.

2.  Was your mail stolen?
It’s strongly recommended that you sign up for a free service with USPS called Informed Delivery.  You get a daily email showing an image of every piece of mail and package you should expect in your mailbox that day.  Sign up for informed delivery here:  https://www.usps.com/manage/informed-delivery.htm

If your mail was stolen, please: File a report with the Postal Inspector (takes approximately 3 minutes to complete)You can do that directly here:  https://usps.my.site.com/emailus/s/daily-mail-delivery-inquiry; orFollow USPS’ instructions:Go to: https://emailus.usps.com/.(opens a new window)If you have a tracking number, enter it.No tracking number, click on Where is my mail? Answer: Was the mail piece destined for a U.S. address? Go to: What’s the reason for your inquiry? Select: Daily Mail Delivery from the options. Select: Theft of Mail as the reason for your email.Provide as many details as possible.

3.  Will reporting it do anything?  Mail theft in Lowry seems to keep happening.
It’s essential to report mail theft via the USPS website so that the evidence and case counts are there to allocate resources to address it.  However, Lowry has been experiencing mailbox kiosk break-ins for years with no successful resolution, and local government / Denver Police have no jurisdiction over USPS.

If you have been the victim of mail theft, please: email and/or call Congresswoman Diana DeGette’s office. The contact there is Suvu Singh, and she can be reached at (303) 844-4988 or Suvu.Singh@mail.house.gov. We notified Congresswoman DeGette’s office of Lowry’s continuing mail theft problem. The more cases that get reported, the more they have to work with when appealing to the USPS Inspector.  Please contact them.

4.  How do I protect my mail moving forward?Check your mail every day. Sign up for Informed Delivery:  https://www.usps.com/manage/informed-delivery.htm. Consider having important mail or packages delivered to an Amazon locker, a UPS store, or Lowry Print and Ship (Lowry Town Center) to pick up instead of to your home address.
