The next LUN Town Hall will be on Tuesday, April 16, 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at the Eisenhower Chapel and will be an interactive presentation on Lowry traffic management and safety issues by Molly Lanphier, Community Designer, from the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI). You will have an opportunity to record your concerns and ask questions.
Please join us to hear Molly talk about “Transportation 101: How decisions get made at DOTI.” Her presentation will help us gain an understanding of design standards, an overview of how design decisions are made, and the tools our community has at our disposal to make improvements. Molly will also review some of the issues raised at our last LUN Traffic meeting in May 2020. Some changes have been made in response to your concerns raised at that meeting and some are still being considered.
A questionnaire will be provided to solicit your input about potentially unsafe vehicle, bike and pedestrian locations and other concerns in Lowry. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
Learn about:
– How to safely negotiate the roundabouts.
– What warrants a cross-walk?
– Why we can’t have more 4-way stops?
– Why was Sports Park Blvd. closed?
– How to report traffic safety issues.
– What are the proposed changes to Uinta Way?
Nicole Aviles from Councilwoman Sawyer’s office will speak briefly and be on hand to answer questions.
This meeting is brought to you by the LUN Pedestrian, Bicycle and Traffic Safety Committee.
Prior to the traffic and safety portion of the Town Hall, there will be a brief LUN annual meeting to confirm the slate of LUN Board members proposed for 2024: David Allen, Renee Arrington, Barb DeSarro, Carol Dietz, Jessie Dorris, Dan Gardenswartz, Dennis Head, Kathy Head, Karen Hagans, Sally Kurtzman, and Carla McConnell.
