SUMMARY:LUN Town Hall: Traffic Concerns in Lowry
DESCRIPTION:The next LUN Town Hall will be on Tuesday\, April 16 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Eisenhower Chapel and will be a presentation by representatives from Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) about traffic concerns in Lowry\, educational information  and questions and answers. \nPlease join us to hear Molly Lanphier\, Community Designer\, from the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) talk about: \nTransportation 101: How decisions get made at DOTI.” \nMolly’s presentation will help us gain an understanding of design standards\, an overview of how design decisions are made\, and the tools our community has at our disposal to make improvements. Molly will also address traffic concerns from the previous meeting held on May 2020\, and on-going issues in Lowry. A questionnaire will be provided to solicit input of potentially unsafe vehicle\, bike and pedestrian locations and concerns in Lowry. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation. \nLearn about:\n\n– How to safely negotiate the roundabouts.\n– What warrants a cross-walk?\n– Why we can’t have more 4-way stops?\n– Why was Sports Park Blvd. closed?\n– How to report traffic safety issues.\n– What are the proposed changes to Uinta Way? \nNicole Aviles from Councilwoman Sawyer’s office will speak briefly and be on hand to answer questions. \nPrior to the traffic and safety portion of the Town Hall\, there will be a brief LUN annual meeting to confirm the slate of LUN Board members proposed for 2024. \nThis meeting is brought to you by the LUN Pedestrian\, Bicycle and Traffic Safety Committee.

SUMMARY:Earth Day!
DESCRIPTION:Why do we celebrate Earth Day?\nEarth Day is celebrated in the U.S. on April 22 every year. While it is not a federally recognized holiday\, many celebrate the day through environmental education\, awareness and action. \n As an individual\, you yield real power and influence as a consumer\, a voter\, and a member of a community that can unite for change. \nDon’t underestimate your power. When your voice and your actions are united with thousands or millions of others around the world\, we create a movement that is inclusive\, impactful\, and impossible to ignore. \nEvery Earth Day can drive a year of energy\, enthusiasm\, and commitment to create a new plan of action for our planet.
