District 5 Annual Survey 2021

From Councilwoman Amanda Sawyer:

Please take a few minutes to complete the Resident Survey, open until December 31. The results help us plan and prioritize our 2022 office work plan with your concerns in mind.

It is my honor to represent the residents of District 5. In addition to leading District 5 through the COVID-19 pandemic, I have worked hard to help our community thrive over the past twelve months, including:

  • Funded a traffic study of 8th Ave. from Quebec to Colorado Blvd. to enhance safety along the corridor.
  • Co-sponsored an ordinance providing free access to legal counsel for Denver residents facing eviction.
  • Authored Charter Amendment 2E which gives City Council confirmation authority over 14 Mayoral appointments.
  • Wrote Charter Amendment 2F and updated Denver’s Open Meetings ordinance so residents can participate in City meetings remotely.
  • Secured $267,000 in funding for the Denver Police Department to develop a pilot community policing program along the East Colfax corridor.

Thank you for completing our 2021 Annual Resident Survey. As always, please reach out to my office if there is anything we can do to assist you.
